I just wanted to add my recommendation in using L & W Carpentry & Builders. We had a few companies quote for the work but Dave was the most positive. Nothing was a problem.

Work progressed efficiently and quickly and when there was a problem with the size of the kitchen I organised, Dave found a solution.

I agree with the comments above that everyone turned up when advised - working in the building trade myself, I found this very refreshing.

Dave never gives the impression he is trying to cut corners. On the tiling, he was left to sort out how to finish the external corners. He could have picked a cheap plastic white corner bead but instead fitted a metal bead which matched the finish of the handles and stainless steel appliances. I dont think Dave did it because he thought we would notice, I belive he genuinely cares about the work he produces.

At the end of the job, I was not looking forward the tradtional trade off where the builder just wants to get paid and I dont want to pay until the snagging is complete. I produced a list and was really pleased to find nearly everything had been addressed without me having to ask. I even spotted a couple of things done that were nothing to do with the work they did.

All in all - a great job. Thank you very much Dave, Iain & Gary. I hope to deal with you again

I would like to say thank you to Dave and Iain for a great job my new kitchen is everything I wanted and asked for and completed on time, these two guys are great at what they do, theres no mess about with them. They show up when they say and stay and do a whole day work unlike some builders I know, there's no cutting corners and the work is outstanding. I would highly recommend to everyone I know, I will use them for all my home improvement. Thanks again for a great job

Dave had previously done work in our house, moving some walls, fitting a kitchen and other bits, therefore he was the only one that I got a quote from when we needed some work doing to our utility room and part of our garage converting. The end result is great and not even a bit of snow stopped him turning up (almost stopped him leaving!). The subcontractors he uses for other work are professional and most importantly easy to talk to, even if you change your mind part way through!

I would have no hesitation in recommending Dave.

Dave and his team pulled out all of the stops to start and finish the work on my kitchen so that it was finished in time for Christmas. He ensured that it was completed to my specification and involved a fair amount of work including removal of walls etc.
I have now a beautiful, bright kitchen that was completed in time for my decorator to complete the finishing touches before Christmas and I love showing it off to my family and friends.
I would definitely recommend Dave based on his reliability, conscientiousness and coming in on budget.

I must admit Dave and Ian caught us out in the first two days. Our previous experience of builders had been, arrive late, finish early and dragging out the job at a painful pace. Not so with these two guys! The speed at which they worked to gut the existing kitchen and dining room was incredible. Always clearing up as they go, made easy work of the final tidy up at the end of each day. Dave and Ian always arrived promptly at 8am and were often still working till 6pm. Whilst each has their own skills and expertise, they work as a very efficient team. Attention to detail was part of our brief and I can honestly say even these two guys exceeded my expectations and critical eye for detail. They were always working with a spirit level in their hands and nagging each other if the finish was not up to each others standards. We were unfortunately let down by one tradesman bought in by the team to do some work. However this was put right to a final good standard and financial compensation adjusted on the bill. We all very quickly warmed to Dave and Ian who remained sensitive to the family needs and doing their very best to lessen the disruption caused by the works. The end product was to an exceptional standard and although we tried hard, our final 'snagging' list contained nothing but petty items. The pair always listened to our thoughts and ideas and if possible made adjust and change without complaint. As I was present throughout most of the work, both were happy and willing to seek ideas. Problems were few but those that did occur were dealt with using some innovative ideas and solutions. I found Dave and Ian very trustworthy, frequently allowing them full access to the premises. Even the dog gained two new play mates! Choosing the right tradesmen is always a gamble unless you can get strong, personal recommendation. We chose right!.... and I have no hesitation in recommending these chaps to anyone contemplating there services.
